"Mohammed Zeidan Association for Development" in Saida has started cleaning, sweeping, and collecting waste from the streets, neighborhoods, and alleys of the old city of Saida, beginning on the past Saturday, the 20th of May of the current month. With this step, the association complements the cleaning efforts carried out by the Sidon Municipality and the committed company in the city of Saida as a whole.

The dedicated cleaning teams for the old city have been conducting regular street sweeping and waste collection activities on a daily basis from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Waste and debris are collected in containers placed for this purpose near Khan Al-Ifranj, in preparation for their transportation by the Sidon Municipality to the waste disposal site for proper treatment. The cleaning also includes washing the floors of neighborhoods and streets every morning.

Mr. Mohammed Zeidan, the patron of the association, affirmed that "this project is one among the developmental and environmental projects that the Mohammed Zeidan Association for Development has committed to towards its community in the old city of Saida." He emphasized that "the association cannot replace the roles of official state administrations," expressing hope that "government departments and administrations regain their functionality, overcome their crises, and fulfill their duties in providing public services to citizens."

It's worth noting that Dr. Engineer Hatem Badee, the president of the association, had visited the Mayor of Sidon, Engineer Mohammed Saudi, in the presence of Dr. Engineer Ziad Al-Hakawati, the head of the engineering department in the municipality, to present him with the details of the project.

Engineer Saudi welcomed the initiative and issued a statement expressing his gratitude to Mr. Mohammed Zeidan. He praised the developmental and humanitarian efforts of the association and its collaborative initiative towards the city and its residents, especially in the current circumstances.

With the hope that the project achieves its intended goals, the association expressed its wishes for the cooperation of residents, business owners, and establishments by joining the project and preserving its outcomes to ensure its continuity. The association emphasized that maintaining the cleanliness of the city is primarily everyone's responsibility.

It's worth mentioning that these activities will continue until the end of the summer of 2023. The decision regarding the future continuity of the project will be based on a general assessment of the experience, considering the level of cooperation from residents and businesses in the old city of Saida
