The Municipality of Sidon and the Mohammed Zeidan Association for Development in Sidon issued the following joint statement:

A meeting was held at noon on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the Sidon Municipality office in Bab Al Saray Square to discuss the mechanism for preparing two memoranda of understanding between the Municipality of Sidon and the Mohammed Zeidan Association for Development in Sidon.

The meeting was attended by the Mayor, Dr. Hazem Khodr Badih, the President of the Association, Dr. Eng. Hatem Badih, the Executive Director of the Association, Mrs. Farah Zeidan, the Association's lawyer, Mr. Elie Saab, and the Head of the Engineering Department in the Municipality, Eng. Dr. Ziad Al-Hakawati.

The necessary steps for preparing a memorandum of understanding were discussed, which will include a complete vision for how to implement the public garden project on property 1587 in the Al-Wastani area, after the agreement between the Municipality and the Mohammed Zeidan Association for Development in Sidon to implement the project.

The steps to be taken to prepare a memorandum of understanding between the Municipality of Sidon and the Mohammed Zeidan Association for Development in Sidon were also discussed, regarding the implementation of the project to restore the Bab Al Saray heritage square, according to the proposal submitted by the Association, which was prepared in a study by Beirut Arab University.
