A delegation from the "Mohammad Zeidan Association for Development," headed by Dr. Hatem Badie and accompanied by the Executive Director of the "Association," Mrs. Farah Zeidan, and Mrs. Rania Zeidan, visited the Mayor of Sidon, Dr. Hazem Badie, to inform him of this initiative that the "Association" will launch during Ramadan. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Mayor, Dr. Abdullah Kanaan, and the member of the Municipal Council, Engineer Mahmoud Shreiteh.
The "Association" delegation presented Mayor Dr. Hazem Badie with a written letter explaining the details of the initiative and the importance of enhancing the aesthetic character of the old city and preserving its heritage identity.
The delegation explained the mechanism of the initiative, emphasizing the importance of illuminating the waterfront of the old city of Sidon and making it a destination for visitors to Sidon throughout the holy month of Ramadan, in addition to lighting a number of old neighborhoods and streets to highlight their heritage and architectural beauty.
The delegation also pointed out that the "Association's" initiative includes organizing daily sweeping and cleaning campaigns for these neighborhoods and streets in old Sidon after Iftar, to ensure the preservation of the city's splendor and keep it in its most beautiful form throughout the holy month.
