**Mohammed Zaidan Development Association Launches Ramadan Initiative to Preserve Old Sidon's Beauty**

As part of its commitment to preserving the beauty and identity of Old Sidon, the Mohammed Zaidan Development Association has launched its annual Ramadan initiative. This year's program includes:
- Illuminating the seafront promenade
- Lighting previously restored historic neighborhoods
- Organizing daily post-Iftar cleanup campaigns to maintain the city's cleanliness throughout the holy month

**Expanding the Initiative**
Responding to a request from Sidon Mayor Dr. Hazem Badaei, the association will expand its Ramadan project to include:
- Lighting for Sidon Sea Castle
- Illumination of the Gold Market in the commercial district, extending from Debbane Palace down to Bab al-Saray gate, including Al-Hamam Al-Jadeed Street

**Addressing Cleanliness Challenges**
During field inspections in the Old City, the association's team observed significant waste accumulation in several streets and alleys. After consulting with the mayor, it became clear that current cleaning efforts – conducted only once daily with limited staff and resources – were insufficient for Ramadan's needs.

**Strategic Partnership with NTCC**
Following consultations with the association's patron, Mr. Mohammed Zaidan, the team coordinated with NTCC, Lebanon's leading cleaning and waste management company. Mr. Maher Al-Sais, NTCC's owner, enthusiastically embraced the initiative, motivated both by professional commitment and personal dedication to Sidon.

**Implementation Agreement**
The association and NTCC established a formal agreement effective February 25, 2025, covering:
- Twice-daily cleaning (morning and post-Iftar) throughout Ramadan until Eid al-Fitr
- Specialized teams and equipment to ensure high-standard implementation
- Four-day preparatory period before Ramadan begins

**A Model for Community-Led Urban Preservation**
Through this partnership, the Mohammed Zaidan Development Association demonstrates how civic engagement can create sustainable change. By combining resources with NTCC's expertise, they aim to:
- Transform cleanliness standards in the historic district
- Preserve Sidon's architectural heritage
- Establish a replicable model for urban conservation

This initiative reaffirms that conscious community action can maintain Old Sidon's radiant heritage while positioning the city as a benchmark for urban preservation.
